Donna Windsor was one of the most famous and lovable characters of the British TV soap opera, Emmerdale. Verity Rushworth played the character of Donna from 1998 to 2014 and left an unforgettable impression on the viewers. In 1993, we were introduced to Donna for the first time as the daughter of Viv Hope and Vic Windsor. Sophie Jeffrey played her role till 1998 and then Verity took the role. In the recent episodes, her daughter has been kidnapped by Jade and faced a similar situation to her mother.

Donna Windsor tragically died in 2014 by jumping off a building, sacrificing herself to save Ross Barton and her daughter, April.
That was the time when Donna was figuring out her life and making some serious decisions. In 2006 we all came to know that Donna wanted to become a police officer and she married Marlon Dingle the same year. However, their marriage broke down in 2009 when Marlon found that Donna had an affair with Ross.
She was out of the storylines for a long time and finally made a surprising return in 2014 with new twists. She returned with a 4-year-old daughter, April, and had become a bent cop. Everyone was surprised to see such big changes but the show gained immense popularity among its old viewers. She had begun a new relationship with Ross and fell into a tragic situation when they messed with Gary North.
Later, it was revealed that Donna had lung cancer and had a small time frame to live. Despite being a cop, she helped Ross Barton in a number of crimes. On the roof of the car park (the same place where Jade took April), Donna and Ross had a faceoff with Gary North in 2014. Donna held Gary’s hand and jumped off the building.
That way she ended her and Gary’s life and saved Ross and April’s life from Gary’s team members. Recently, Ross told April everything about the incident and we all had flashbacks of the past which refreshed the old memories.
