Nobody knows if the poor little soul is alive or dead but people who loved him enough have faith in their prayers and believe he will return one day. But will Baby Deorr return? Is he alive and miles away from his family? Or has he met with the ultimate reality of human lives?
Baby Deorr Went Missing For 9 Years Now
Well, it has been 9 years now that Baby Deorr has left his family in dilemma and grief. There have been investigations and they have tried gathering all the information and evidence to get back to Baby Deorr but sadly there has been none.
What happened to Baby Deorr?
Baby Deorr was a two-year-old kid who has been missing since 2015 and along with police, his parents are constantly in search of him. Baby Deorr was two when he went camping with his family and went missing from the camping site.
July 9, 2015, was the day when it all started. Baby Deorr went to a camp with his parents, Sr. “Vernal” and Jessica Mitchell. Jessica’s grandpa, Bob, and family friend Issac Reinwand also joined the last-minute camping trip.
Kunz Family Went Camping
Baby Deorr’s family made a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Leodore. Before setting up the campsite, they made a quick run to the convenience store near the campground.
What’s interesting is their campground was completely vacant that day and they found the perfect, beautiful spot near the river.
They were happy that there were no neighbors, and they began settling down and parking their camp trailer. The next day, all of them had their breakfast and Isaac walked towards the river for fishing while Vernal and Jessica went to the general store in town along with Baby Deorr.
Baby Deorr Disappeared
Once they returned, they took their fishing poles and headed towards the river. That’s when Baby Deorr follows them; however, they ask him to wait for them with Grandpa Bob, and they tell Grandpa Bob to take care of him.
However, things took a drastic turn half an hour later when they returned and couldn’t find Baby Deorr. They looked around for him and after hours of endless searching, Jessica called dispatch to report Baby Deorr missing.
Twist to the Story
In the interview with police, it was found that Grandpa Bob didn’t hear Jessica asking him to look after Baby Deorr, so he saw the baby last time with his parents and thought they all had left together.
The search also spread around the campsite, but they found nothing. They even searched for Baby Deorr in the river but couldn’t find any clue.
Locals Say They Never Saw A Kid
The search team has even talked to the local people of the town and general store owners but they said they never saw a child with Vernal and Jessica; in fact, one of them said that they saw an empty baby seat in the car.
Everybody who went on the camping trip has different answers and Jessica and Vernal didn’t even pass the polygraphic test. With all that, investigators, after months, have even found the jacket Baby Deorr was wearing in Jessica’s storage unit.
So, after months of searching and constantly finding evidence, Jessica and Vernal are declared the prime suspects, while Grandpa Bob and Isaac are also persons of interest.
Theories Behind Baby Deorr’s Disappearance
After years of searching, the investigators have come up with three theories. First, the baby has been kidnapped from the camping site; the second, Baby Deorr, has been snatched by wild animals, but there was no evidence found of blood or torn clothes, while the third one, Baby Deorr, was a victim of foul play by none other than his own parents.
Investigator Suspects Parents
Phillip Klein, of Klein Investigations and Consulting, was hired by Baby Deorr’s parents and according to him, Vernal and Jessica Kunz know what happened to their son and are pretty much involved in it.
However, the Kunzs have been denying it and have hired a new investigator. Klein has been talking about his theories about Vernal and Jessica’s involvement in the disappearance of their son in interviews and online, so in 2019, they filed a case of defamation against him.
The case is still not resolved, and the new investigator is also working on it yet there is no development to it yet.
