Singer and actor Selena Gomez has reached billionaire status with a whopping net worth of 1.3 billion, according to Bloomberg.

Recently, Selena was on Entertainment Tonight, where she was asked about her newfound billionaire status, and she said that she found it ‘distasteful’ to talk about money. She added that she, however, was ‘grateful’ to the people who bought her beauty products 

She founded the beauty brand Rare Beauty in 2019.

Her company is one of the biggest sources of her income, according to Bloomberg. She has also amassed her wealth from her acting-singing career, her endorsements, real estate ownership, and Wondermind investment.

She said that she grew up in a ‘rough neighborhood’ in Texas with a single mom who had three jobs, and it taught her to remain grounded.

“I’m very grateful. I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money. But I really am giving all the credit to the people who buy the products. They’re the ones who made this dream. Mine come true. So I’m really, really honored and just happy,” she said on the show.

“I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we’d run out of gas money. My mom gave up everything for me and had three jobs. I remember always being reminded that people had less than we did, and we didn’t have much,” added the songstress.

According to the femalefirst.co.uk., she and her mother often volunteered at soup kitchens on Thanksgiving.

Rare Beauty’s Commitment to Mental Health

Her brand, Rare Beauty, also has a foundation of the same name, which was established in 2020. It is based on the concept of mental health and helps underprivileged people get the assistance they need for mental health-related issues.

She started her career at Disney with small roles in shows. She also had a two-episode appearance on Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montanna. Eventually, her career took off when she landed Wizards of Waverly Place on the same network.

Since then, it has been an endless upward curve for the actress and ‘Lose You To Love Me’ singer.
