Lisa Marie Presley, the late only daughter of legendary pop star Elvis Presley, has had her memoir published posthumously in recent times. And it contains quite a bit of tidbits from the heiress’ life. In the book titled, ‘From Here to the Great Unknown’, she has revealed that she got pregnant with daughter Riley as a way to trap her then-partner Danny Keough.
She said that she was devastated after she had an abortion, so she ‘planned and plotted’ to have sex with her then-boyfriend on the exact date of her ovulation. She joined him as per her plans, on the cruise ship he and his band was performing on. “I didn’t care if he wanted to be a part of it or not. I felt that I had to redeem, to make amends, because I still couldn’t believe I had had an abortion,” she was quoted from her book in a report from People website.
She continues with, “I would be talking to the lost child, saying, ‘I’m so sorry, I can’t believe I f–king did that. Please forgive me and stay with me until I get pregnant again.
A couple of weeks later after her trip on the cruise, she learned that she was pregnant. Her daughter, Riley Kenough, was eventually born in May 1989. She said that she ‘trapped’ Danny with the kid. “I didn’t mean to, but I did,” she wrote. The two got married in 1988 (after Lisa got pregnant) and got divorced in 1994. The pair had another son, Benjamin Storm Keough, who died by suicide in July 2020.
Riley, said in an interview in September that her mother ‘died of a broken heart’ after the passing of her son. She had also helped finish the book after her mother passed. According to NBC, Lisa had infamously kept her son’s body preserved in ice for almost two months after he died, unable to cope with his death. “My mom had my brother in the house with us instead of keeping him at the morgue,” Riley Keough wrote in her mother’s memoir. “They told us that if we could tend to the body, we could have him at home, so she kept him in our house for a while on dry ice.”
After her divorce from Keough, Lisa was married to Michael Lockwood from 2006-2021. She had two children from that union–named Vivienne and Finley Lockwood. She died in Ja
nuary 2023.
