Beverly Hills 90210 star Jennie Garth has revealed a painful personal story along with her husband Dave Abrams on the podcast ‘I Choose Me With Jennie Garth’ by iHeartPodcasts.
On the show, the 52-year-old TV star spoke about how she had undergone a couple of miscarriages after her marriage to Dave Abrams, who is her third husband. She shares three daughters— Fiona, Lola, and Luca— with ex-husband Peter Facinelli.
She said that she desperately wanted to give Dave a baby boy. She said, “And so I remember I so, so, so wanted to give you a baby boy.”
“I think at that time, I was feeling really down on myself, really ashamed, feeling like I was disappointing you, like I wasn’t able to carry a pregnancy with you, who I loved,” she said to her husband on the show. “And I had had these three beautiful daughters with Peter, and you had stepped in and become such a wonderful stepdad to them,” she added.
However, fate had other plans in store.
The couple said that Garth’s first pregnancy came following their mini honeymoon. Abrams said that he was ‘in shock’ following the news, but they soon discovered that the baby did not have a heartbeat. The actor was four months pregnant when this heartbreaking discovery was made.
“I think I remember them saying we could just wait and let it work its way,” said Garth. “Let nature take its course or we could do the procedure. And we opted to do the procedure because it was just too much for me to carry a baby that had been terminated.”
So she opted for the removal of the fetus. According to reports, she underwent a procedure to clear her uterine lining.
She soon became pregnant with her second child, but that too ended in a miscarriage. This time, the pregnancy lasted only one and a half months. After the doctor broke the news to them, Garth underwent another DNC.
The couple shared on the podcast that they went through a really tough time when she miscarried for the second time.
