Britney Spears has always supported survivors of abuse. The Princess of Pop showed support in a recent video on trauma posted by her former fling and longtime choreographer Wade Robson.
Back in 2013, Wade Robson had filed a lawsuit accusing the late musician Michael Jackson of sexually abusing him when he was a child. Years after the accusations, Robson posted a podcast, From Trauma to Triumph where he shared his struggles toward healing and recovery.
On Friday, May 24, Britney took to her Instagram to repost the video, which has now been deleted from her account. In the video originally posted on his account on May 10, the choreographer, 41, wrote in the caption that the posted video features Dr. Peter A.
Levine, Ph.D., where they talk about healing from trauma. He mentions that the topics for discussion include dissociation, shame, self-compassion, and the role of community in healing.
Britney promoted Robson’s video, where she wrote that she probably does not talk to him much, but she wanted to share the video because it genuinely touched her heart to see an older man speak on a subject so close to her heart.
Britney has herself suffered from financial and emotional abuse under her 13-year-long conservatorship. Britney urged her fans to talk about trauma openly in the detailed caption.
Adding to Robson’s video, Britney says that the one thing that she loved about the podcast was when he said that talking about all the details of the trauma to heal from it was not at all necessary.
The pop star further added that in her former 13-year-long conservatorship, she was forced to see doctors and talk about her personal life against her will, which she felt was not okay.
The Grammy winner further noted that the entire duration of her conservatorship, she lost chunks of memory and resorted to unhealthy coping mechanisms.
Britney previously had a relationship with Robson while dating singer and actor Justin Timberlake 20 years ago. Spears faced criticism when she promoted Robson’s video from defenders of Michael Jackson when Robson and his podcast cohost James Safechuck accused the late musician of sexually abusing them as children.
One person, specifically, hit back at Spears with the comment that every tongue that rises against Jackson should fall. The person said that Britney signed her death sentence for billions of people. The person further added, “She’s dead to me!.”
Another person wrote that this was the most disrespectful thing she could do to Michael Jackson, who called Britney her friend. Not cool Not cool!, the comment read.
A third comment read that Jackson did nothing but good for everyone, only to be rewarded with betrayal and lies. The comment also shamed everyone whom Michael helped in their lives and careers.
Britney’s recent behavior on social media has sparked concerns among her fans. In a recent video of her, she appeared to be looking for a ‘cry for help.’ Fans wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, speculating whether someone is forcing Britney to do such videos.
