After nearly two years away from WWE, Alexa Bliss has officially returned to the ring! She made a surprise appearance in the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble match, entering at the 21st position. This marked her first in-ring action since the 2023 Royal Rumble, bringing immense excitement to WWE fans.
Assigned to SmackDown Roster
Following her Royal Rumble return, Alexa Bliss has officially joined SmackDown. On the February 7, 2025, episode of SmackDown, she defeated Candice LeRae in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match, marking her first singles victory since her comeback.
While Bliss has returned to WWE full-time, she has also gained interest from Hollywood. Having appeared on The Masked Singer and explored other entertainment projects, Bliss may continue expanding her career beyond the wrestling world. However, for now, she is fully committed to WWE.
Contract Issues Finally Resolved
All WWE fans know that we saw Alexa Bliss on WWE TV after 2 years. According to PWInsider, her return was planned for the 13th of January on Monday Night Raw, but her Netflix debut was scrapped at the last minute.
According to the report, Bliss’ representatives contacted WWE and initiated contract negotiations, saying that they wanted a new deal before her return. Evidently, that led to a deadlock, and all the plans for her return were shelved.
For months, reports suggested that Bliss’ return was being delayed due to contract negotiations with WWE. PWInsider initially reported that WWE had planned her return for January, but disputes over her contract caused those plans to fall through. After extensive discussions, Bliss has now signed a new five-year deal with WWE, securing her long-term future with the company.
Two Years Away from the Ring
It’s almost been two whole years since Bliss was seen in a WWE ring after the 2023 Royal Rumble. She has since welcomed a child with her husband and starred in other TV projects, such as making appearances on The Masked Singer and doing roles in shows such as Sakamoto Days.
Bliss, in a previous interview with the MackMania Podcast, revealed that “There is a version of me that I am dying to get to”.
“Right now, it’s just me. There has been something that I’ve been working on for quite a while that I really want to get out there, it’s just finding the right time, what the roster needs right now,” Bliss said. “I feel, on TV right now I’m boring, so I’m trying to regroup and reorganize things and get to where I want to be character-wise, for sure.”
Layla El, former English wrestler, has predicted her return on the show sooner or later. I do think I put Alexa Bliss. I do think she will come back. I think it’s time for her to come back. It’s been way too long,” she said on Chaishot Sports.
With her return officially underway, fans are eager to see what’s next for Bliss. Will she reclaim a Women’s Championship, or will she take her character in a new direction?
One thing is certain—Alexa Bliss is back, and WWE just got a whole lot more exciting!
