The popular streaming YouTuber has over 9.8 million subscribers on YouTube but he hasn’t uploaded a single video since 27 Apr 2023. However, he continued to stream for a little longer because of a contract but completely stopped his online activities from July 2023. You must be wondering what made him quit the thing that gave him all the name and money. This article dives deeper into all the aspects so be with us till the end.
Ricegum’s real name is Bryan Quang Le, born on November 19, 1996, to Vietnamese and Chinese parents. He quit streaming in July 2023 right at the time when he had a four-year contract in front of him. He signed a contract with Rumble and streamed for them continuously and they wanted to increase the contract for 4 more years.
Ricegum announced that it would probably be his last stream, and he stood by his words. We never saw his stream again, and the primary reason behind it was his disinterest in the thing that made him sit in front of a screen all day. In his own words, “Yeah, it’s probably my last stream. Re-sign for four years chat?” You can see his rage and discomfort in the statement that streaming gave him.
He continued, “You guys are crazy, bro. I really sit here for a year of my life for pride, like I really did this s–t for a year. And when you are streaming, you can’t really do anything else but commit to this s–t. However, there is another major reason that we need to throw some light on.
Ricegum was Heartbroken Because of a Tragic Incident
Live-streaming Rumble would have required constant devotion from Ricegum. He used to keep his streams interesting with frequent funny statements but something tragic happened in his life that took away his happiness. It was nearly impossible for him to continue making the videos in his regular goofy and chill style.
Fans asked him multiple times about the reason behind his quitting but he always answered that he doesn’t love it anymore. He and his partner lost their first child to stillbirth. Even his last YouTube video is about the pregnancy update of his partner and you can see that both of them were extremely happy.
Losing a child to stillbirth was a traumatic experience for him and it was surely the biggest reason for him to quit making videos. It may have shaped his feelings differently; he never thought of it. He still holds the chance to return anytime he gets out of trauma and wishes to resume streaming.
